OVERVIEW:

Moot is Scout event organised by World Scout Movement, where 8,000 Scouts aged 18 to 25 from around the world, coming together to share cultures, learn from each other and gain new skills. The UK Scouts will take a contingent of several 100's young people on an experience of a lifetime. To support this event, Scouts UK reached out, and asked me to create a unique and distinct brand identity to represent the UK Contingent.

THE OUTCOME

Moot 2025 will be hosted in Portugal, and inspired by animals native to Portugal I began by conceptualising and developing overarching concepts and presenting creative proposals. After collaborating with the client, various stakeholders and consulting young people in the creative process, the decision was made and the best fit for the brief was the Dolphin concept.

As bottlenose dolphins are a common sight off the coast of Portugal, I focused the design around these majestic, social mammals. Their playful nature and impressive acrobatics inspired the branding, adding a dynamic feel to the design. The design itself needed to contain the Union Flag which I balanced this with Portuguese-inspired decorative patterns.

To bring the brand to life I created a short animation of the Dolphin splashing into the ocean to share on social channels and to splashing onto the lives of young people at Scouts. The audio special effects were created by the brilliant sound engineer Toby Griffin.
