OVERVIEW:
Scouts approached me to develop the visual language for their latest strategy – a document designed to guide the organisation over the next nine years.
The design needed to reflect the ambition and energy of the strategy, while staying true to the Scouts brand and amplifying the voices of young people at its core. It had to work seamlessly across both print and digital formats, from a printed report to accessible PDFs and presentation assets.
My role was to create a flexible and engaging design system that would bring clarity to complex information, feel memorable, and adapt easily across multiple touchpoints.

THE OUTCOME
I developed a bold, vibrant visual style that balances clarity with energy, helping the strategy feel both engaging and easy to navigate.
Photography and real stories from Scouts members were placed at the heart of the design, reinforcing themes of belonging and community. A clear typographic hierarchy and structured layout system were used to guide readers through the content, making key messages easy to find and understand.
The design was carefully considered to work across formats, from printed reports to digital documents and presentations, ensuring consistency while remaining flexible for different uses.
Key Deliverables:
Full digital strategy document (PDF)
Printed strategy report
Welsh-language version
Supporting presentation assets
Adaptable visual system for wider campaign use
The Impact:
The final strategy provides Scouts with a clear, recognisable visual identity that brings their vision to life and supports communication across the organisation.
The design has been rolled out across various touchpoints, from digital assets and presentations to social media to create a consistent and cohesive experience.
By combining strong visual storytelling with a clear and accessible structure, the strategy not only informs but engages, helping communicate Scouts’ long-term vision in a way that feels inclusive, inspiring and easy to understand.
