What's a Design Day, and how can it help your team?
Updated: Sep 3

Another campaign to launch. A report that needs finishing. A presentation still running last year's branding. If this sounds familiar, I’m guessing you’re part of a busy marketing team. There's always something design-shaped sitting on the to-do list, and not always the time, or the need for a full-time designer, to get it done.
That's exactly what a Design Day is for: a single day of my full, dedicated attention on your priority design work, with no lengthy briefing process and no long-term commitment.
So, how does a Design Day work?
The best Design Days start with a bit of preparation and clear communication, so here's how it works:
Connect: Get in touch via my contact form or email and tell me what you're working on. I'll check it's the right fit for a Design Day before we go any further.
Plan: We'll jump on a short call to nail down your goals and agree a realistic list of deliverables. The day before, you'll send over your final copy, images and brand assets, so we hit the ground running.
Design: I get to work, checking in with you throughout the day whenever I need feedback or sign-off.
Handover: You get everything ready to use, whether that's print-ready, digital, or both.
Note: to keep things on track, it helps if you (or someone on your team) are available during the day to review artwork and answer any questions that come up.
A Design Day works well for
A Design Day is ideal for smaller, focused projects, or giving existing materials a refresh. A few examples of what tends to get ticked off in a day:
Slide decks and presentations: turning a rough PowerPoint into a polished, professional deck for a major meeting or pitch.
Event and campaign collateral: flyers, posters, banners and digital assets for an upcoming launch.
Publications and workbooks: formatting short PDFs, training resources or interactive worksheets.
Digital and social assets: a suite of branded templates or thumbnail graphics for video content.
Why choose a Design Day?
Dedicated time: your project gets my full attention for the day, so we make real progress on what actually matters.
Simple pricing: one fixed price. No surprise invoices, no hourly billing.
Experienced support: 20 years in, I know how to get under the skin of a brief quickly and get straight to work.
Pricing
You can book either a Full Day or a Half Day, depending on what you need to get done. You'll find the latest pricing on my Design Days page.
A few quick guidelines to keep things running smoothly
Booking: full payment is needed upfront to lock in your date in my diary.
Before the day: all final copy, high-res images and logos need to be with me the day before, so no design time gets wasted waiting on files.
If priorities change: we'll agree a realistic list of deliverables in our prep call. If extra bits crop up on the day outside that list, additional hours can be booked at my standard rate of £60 per hour.
